Placerita Canyon Special Standards District
Regarding the Placerita Canyon Special Standards District (PCSSD) overlay, the photo outlines the boundary (shaded tan). The PCSSD does not include the Special Standards District for Porta Bella to the north or the Old Town Newhall overlay to the southwest of Placerita Canyon (also shaded tan). The pdf text version link describes the conditions and restrictions the overlay imposes on properties within the district, which includes the proposed Shadowbox Studios project.
Navigate the City’s interactive map
Once on the page, click on the “Show Map Layers” tab on the upper left portion of the webpage to get a list of all mapping layers. The special standards layer can be found under the “ADMINISTRATIVE” drop-down list on the left side of the mapping portal (click on the + button next to the “ADMINISTRATIVE” tab). This will show a drop-down list that includes a “Special Standards Districts” check box that needs to be checked and turned on. By checking this box, you can see the PCSSD area/map.
